Horses at the Beach by Zoë Barracano (3'x'3', photography, 2010)
Saturday, July 23rd, 1-3PM at Falls Gallery
This event is FREE.
Artists will lead art activities for kids & young people. Kids will make 2-dimensional art work (painting, collage, drawing) and get to take their creations home with them.
This activity is led by Zoë Barracano. Zoë’s artwork is whimsical and fresh. She uses photography, paint, wood, toys and scraps of paper. All this is subject to change. Her Horses at the Beach, which is part of a series of water-themed photographs, places man-made figurines in a natural environment, creating the illusion of a scene unhampered by human hands.
Zoë was raised in the SoHo of George Maciunas and the Fluxist movement that existed in the 1970′s. She went on to attend the High School of Music and Art but has remained largely self-taught since those formative years.
She specializes in photography and dabbles in paintings and mixed-media. She’s held exhibitions in Los Angeles, New York City, Burlington and Montpelier. Her photographs have been published in the Los Angeles Times and the New York Sun. Her works are in collections worldwide. She also works as a freelance photographer. She currently resides in Burlington with her husband and two daughters.
Sweet treats will be provided by Winooski Falls Market & Deli.
